Local Government Act 2000
Covers various specific areas that must be upheld by Local Governments ('Political Management of English Local Authorities'), such as Promotion of wellbeing, Political Management arrangements, Conduct of LA members and employees, Elections and other Miscellaneous provisions.
Contained in 3 parts within the Act: Part 1 new powers introduced for local authorities to promote social, economic and environmental 'wellbeing' of an area. Part 2 insists that all LA's move from the more 'traditional committee' which makes decisions and Part 3 gives an introduction of a new 'ethical framework' and to uphold a code of conduct/standards committee.
